![]() ![]() The common strategy for Riftborn is to get level 2 modernization development quickly and use some systems for the sole purpose of building 1 Riftborn pop in 1 turn and then sending that pop to a nearby system with 4 or 5 planets. In my opinion, the Riftborn should have a non-Riftborn population on everyone of their systems so they can generate manpower and so they can use their food in order to passively increase their pop count. Whenever you build any kind of ship, your empire manpower will decrease and be moved to those new ships. And some improvements can increase the percentage of your food that gets converted to manpower per turn. When you increase your food, you also increase your manpower generation. But keep in mind that approval has break points at 30, 70, and 85 so being at 30 is the same as being at 69, but you should try to stay above 85 if possible. This is my advice for players, no matter what faction they're playing: When in doubt, focus on industry, then luxury/strategic resources, and then approval. (Though beware that converting too much Food > Manpower can lead to starvation of POPs.) Riftborn need to have Minor Faction POPs on a System to generate Food, otherwise they don't get passive Manpower generation and have to Construct Manpower on the System. You can increase the Manpower generation by building Patriot Pills Plant or Exotic Rations System Improvements. ![]() Manpower is normally generated from Food on Systems by the Colony Base Improvement. Ships can definitely fight without Crew, but they will be weaker in combat. When you use that fleet for Invasion, all the Crew join the Invasion, and then return to the ship if you Retreat or Capture the system. When parked on a ship as Crew, they give up to a 20% damage buff to the ship. So, Manpower is used for System Defense, Ship Crew, and Invasions. They are old, and some of the tricks he uses have been balanced out, but it's still a really solid way to learn the basics of the game.Īnd yeah, turn off the major expansions(Supremacy/Penumbra/Awakening) for your first few games, Vaulters is beginner-safe. I usually recommend the 30 turn guides by 4X Alchemist. ![]()
